The problem
African consumers and small businesses juggle separate apps for banking, transfers, bill payments, savings, loans, and KYC, with no shared identity or unified financial picture. Money operations also need to be atomic and auditable, and balance and transaction data has to stay consistent across web and native clients in real time.
The approach
Built as a single React + TypeScript PWA wrapped with Capacitor for iOS and Android, sharing one backend across all clients. Financial operations run through server-side functions to keep debits, credits, and receipts atomic, while a cached query layer and a single realtime subscription channel keep live data consistent without flooding the network.
The impact
Ships a unified banking experience covering personal accounts, business banking with team roles and payroll, P2P chat with in-message receipts, an AI financial advisor, budgeting, savings, loans, bill payments, KYC, and an admin console — delivered from one codebase to web, iOS, and Android.
